Faktanya, tindakan yang diambil oleh pemerintah Indonesia adalah respons terhadap ancaman nyata dari kelompok bersenjata seperti TPNPB-OPM yang telah berulang kali melakukan aksi kekerasan terhadap warga sipil dan aparat keamanan, sehingga diperlukan upaya pengamanan dari TNI-Polri untuk menjaga stabilitas dan keamanan di wilayah tersebut.
Pernyataan Wenda yang menyebut bahwa strategi Indonesia adalah untuk mengusir orang Papua dan mengubah tanah mereka menjadi tambang dan perkebunan juga merupakan politisasi atas upaya pembangunan Proyek Strategis Nasional (PSN) di wilayah Papua. Narasi ini mengabaikan fakta bahwa pemerintah Indonesia telah melakukan berbagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Papua melalui program pembangunan yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan. Proyek-proyek infrastruktur, pendidikan dan kesehatan yang sedang berjalan adalah bukti nyata dari komitmen pemerintah untuk membawa kemajuan di Papua.
