TIRANITOTALITAS Jakarta- Media asing menyoroti pemilihan umum (pemilu) Indonesia yang akan berlangsung pada Februari 2024 mendatang. Kali ini media asing menyoroti ancaman teror yang akan mengganggu pemilihan presiden (pilres) dan legislatif pada 14 Februari.
Ini berkaiatan penangkapan militan yang dicurigai berencana untuk mengganggu pemilu. Media Reuters dan Channel News Asia (CNA) melalui artikel berjudul ‘Indonesia arrests militants suspected of plotting to disrupt election‘ yang diterbitkan Selasa (31/10/2023).
“Unit kontra-terorisme Indonesia telah menangkap 59 tersangka militan termasuk beberapa loyalis Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) yang terinspirasi ISIS yang dicurigai merencanakan mengganggu pemilu pada 2024,” demikian menurut media tersebut, mengutip Aswin Siregar, juru bicara gugus tugas kontra-terorisme Densus 88.
Sekitar 19 dari seluruh tersangka yang ditangkap itu berasal dari jaringan Jemaah Islamiah (JI), yang adai hubungan dengan Al Qaeda. Sementara 40 tersangka lain berasal dari JAD, yang telah berjanji setia kepada ISIS.
“Bagi mereka pemilu tidak bermoral dan bertentangan dengan syariat Islam,” kata Aswin dalam konferensi pers.
“Mereka berencana menyerang fasilitas kepolisian. Ini berkaitan dengan tujuan utama mereka yaitu membatalkan pemilu,” tambahnya.
