Kehilangan Separuh Pengguna Harian sejak Pertama Dirilis “Threads”
Tiranitotalitas. Jakarta – Aplikasi bikinan Meta yang dibuat mirip Twitter sudah berusia dua pekan sejak pertama kali dirilis pada 6 Juli lalu. Awalnya aplikasi ini mendulang popularitas dan diunduh hingga 100 juta pengguna kurang dari satu minggu dirilis. Terlepas dari pencapaian tersebut, jumlah pengguna aktif Threads tercatat turun. Menurut firma analitik trafik web, Similarweb, per 7 Juli jumlah pengguna aktif harian Threads mencapai 49 juta. Namun pada Jumat pekan lalu (14/7) jumlah pengguna aktif harian Threads hanya 23,6 juta. Tidak hanya dari aspek pengguna aktif harian, rata-rata durasi penggunaan Threads juga turun, dari 21 menit menjadi hanya 6 menit. Data ini diambil pada periode yang sama. Bila dibandingkan dengan Twitter, jumlahnya terbilang cukup rendah. Pasalnya, Twitter memiliki lebih dari 100 juta pengguna aktif. Rata-rata total waktu yang dihabiskan pengguna di Twitter juga agak lebih lama, yaitu sekitar 25 menit
Penurunan kinerja Threads menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi Meta untuk melanjutkan eksistensi aplikasi ke depan. Jadi pekerjaan rumah (PR) Meta setelah merilis Threads antara lain membuat Threads lebih menarik dari Twitter dan menjangkau audiens dengan jauh lebih besar, dihimpun KompasTekno dari CNN, Jumat (21/7/2023).
Meta sendiri tampaknya menyadari bahwa mengajak orang memakai Threads lebih mudah ketimbang meyakinkan mereka untuk beinteraksi lebih lama di aplikasi tersebut. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan memanfaatkan keadaan di Twitter serta memanfaatkan jaringan Instagram dalam merilis Threads. “Tentu saja, Twitter sudah menjadi pelopor di segmen ini. Ada berbagai macam hal yang bisa ditawarkan ke dalam percakapan publik,” kata Adam Mosseri, Kepala Instagram dalam wawancara dengan media teknologi The Verge. “Tetapi, mengingat apa yang sedang terjadi, kami melihat adanya peluang untuk mengembangkan sesuatu yang terbuka dan baik untuk komunitas pengguna yang sudah memiliki Instagram,” tambah Mosseri
Belum lama ini Meta menggulirkan pembaruan pertama untuk Threads versi iOS. Pembaruan itu menghadirkan tombol terjemahan, tab khusus yang menunjukkan siapa saja daftar pengikut (follower) pengguna, opsi langganan serta notifikasi dari akun yang mungkin belum diikuti (follow).
Ke depannya, Threads juga akan dilengkapi dengan fitur menarik lain. Mosseri mengisyaratkan pihaknya bakal menghadirkan aplikasi Threads versi desktop, feed yang hanya menampilkan konten dari akun yang di-follow hingga tombol edit. Selain itu, Threads bakal memberikan batasan lihat thread bagi pengguna. Namun batasan ini tampaknya hanya berlaku untuk akun spam saja.
“Serangan spam sudah meningkat sehingga kami harus memperketat hal-hal seperti batas kecepatan, yang artinya lebih membatasi orang yang aktif secara tidak sengaja (positif palsu),” kata Mosseri. “Jika Anda terjebak dalam batasan itu, beri tahu kami,” imbuhnya. Mosseri belum menjelaskan rincian batasan yang dimaksud olehnya. Yang jelas, batasan itu ditujukan untuk akun spam. Jadi, bila Anda termasuk pengguna yang aktif (bukan spam) dan terdampak batasan Threads, Anda bisa melaporkannya.
