Kontrak berjangka Brent naik 18 sen, atau 0,2 persen menjadi US$79,64 per barel. Sedangkan, minyak mentah West Texas Intermediate (WTI) AS juga terangkat 28 sen atau 0,4 persen ke harga U$75,63 per barel.
Organisasi Negara Pengekspor Minyak (OPEC) dan Badan Energi Internasional (IEA) memprediksi permintaan minyak oleh China akan terus meningkat pada paruh kedua tahun ini, serta tetap menjadi pendorong utama pertumbuhan global.
Impor minyak mentah China dari Rusia mencapai level tertinggi sepanjang masa pada Jun lalu.
Namun analis Citi menilai harga minyak mentah mungkin kesulitan menemukan arah yang jelas dalam beberapa minggu ke depan, mengingat prospek permintaan global beragam.
